Composed in just over 3 weeks,the Baroque-era oratorio. “Messiah,” has become a Southern Utah tradition and worldwide holiday favorite. The Southwest Symphony joins with LietoVoices! and featured soloists to present selections such as “For Unto Us a Child is Born,” “Glory to God” and the venerated “Hallelujah.”

With the reputation as one of the most technically challenging piano concertos in the classical repertoire, Billboard #1 artist and National Chopin competition prizewinner, Josh Wright, demonstrates his technical brilliance through his performance of Rachmaninoff’s 3rd piano concerto. A unique combination of power, poetry and speed, the “Rach 3” is a dazzling display of virtuosity juxtaposed with plush,melancholy melodies. This all-Russian program pays homage to the composer who inspired Rachmaninoff himself- the legendary Tchaikovsky with a performance of his 4th symphony.

The double concerto for violin and cello is the remarkable realization of Johannes Brahms’ creation of sound that transcends musical limits. Performed by Dr. Paul Abegg and Dr. Ka-wai Yu, the depths of the cello and the heights of the violin are displayed through a harmonious companionship in rapid passages of unified octaves. The concert concludes with one of Beethoven’s most celebrated works,his 3rd symphony, “Eroica,” providing an extraordinary finale.

be performed by the Symphony Phantom and the lovely Christine. Under the glow of the midnight moon, the St. George Dance Company will cast their Halloween spells on all who enter. Experience the thrill of the symphony phantom like never before!
*New this year! Costume contest from 6-7pm in the Cox lobby with CASH prizes for youth ages 3-17 and adults age 18 and older. Family-friendly costumes only please. No masks. Winners will be announced at the end of the concert from the stage. Must be present to win.

Composed by Rob Gardner, this stirring oratorio blends the talents of the Southwest Symphony with the singing of LietoVoices! and featured soloists. “Lamb of God” is a divine, awe-inspiring masterpiece.
